What parents say

In their own words — from families across the UK, UAE and internationally.

Anxiety
★★★★★
Annette really helped my daughter when she was having a difficult time managing conflict with her close friendships at school. She was going round in circles using negative behaviours and coping mechanisms. Annette helped her to stop this and find new behaviours to change the situations she was finding herself in. Thanks for all your help Annette.

Confidence
★★★★★
The difference from the start of the programme to the end was amazing. Each week we saw our child growing in confidence and engaging with the practical techniques Annette taught to help navigate her personal daily challenges. Always on hand for questions and checking in regularly the whole family felt supported.

School refusal
★★★★★
Our son was refusing to go to school and we were at our wits' end. Within three weeks of starting with Annette, he was back in school. I still can't quite believe how quickly things turned around.

Neurodivergence
★★★★★
Annette has a gift for connecting with teenagers. My daughter — who has ADHD and had resisted every other form of support — actually looks forward to her sessions. That alone is remarkable.

Anxiety
★★★★★
I was sceptical at first — we'd tried other approaches and nothing had worked. After just two sessions with Annette, my daughter started talking about things she'd kept locked away for over a year. The change has been profound.

Emotional shutdown
★★★★★
When I spoke to my son using Annette's advice, he broke down and admitted he needed help but didn't know how to ask. Already I can see a visible sense of relief in him. One of the best decisions we ever made.

Autism
★★★★★
My son is autistic and had been written off by several services as 'too difficult.' Annette didn't see him that way at all. She met him where he was and the progress has been extraordinary.

We're based in Dubai and were worried about quality coaching. The Zoom sessions work brilliantly. Annette has been just as present and effective as if we were in the same room.

Case study

A parent's story, in full

Anna reached out after her son experienced a significant setback at school. This is what happened.

Rebuilding Teen Confidence

Anna's Journey with CHAMPS Academy Coaching

Six months ago, Anna's typically joyful and energetic son faced a significant setback after a troubling incident at school. This event drastically diminished his confidence, leaving him unmotivated and withdrawn. He lost interest in attending school and distanced himself from friends he once enjoyed spending time with.

Recognising the need for additional support beyond what the school provided, Anna turned to the internet and discovered CHAMPS Academy Coaching.

Deciding to enrol her son required careful consideration. Anna knew that teenagers are at a delicate balance between childhood and adulthood, often resistant to external help. Gaining her son's cooperation was crucial.

"Most young people know they need some help; they just don't necessarily know what that help looks like." — Annette Du Bois

From the outset, the coaching sessions were met with reluctance. Her son was hesitant to engage. However, Annette's compassionate and non-judgmental approach began to break down these barriers. As Anna described: "You are such a person that makes a person talk."

As the weeks progressed, noticeable positive changes emerged. Her son became more open about his struggles at school and started to manage his emotions better. He learned to differentiate between his self-worth and the negative comments from peers, fostering a healthier self-image. He also developed time management techniques, freeing up time for his interests — playing guitar and socialising with friends.

One of the most heartening developments was his renewed interest in reconnecting with friends. What had felt permanently broken began, steadily and quietly, to repair itself.
