The coaching process

Before Annette recommends anything, she needs to understand your child or teenager

The application, parent conversation and Confidence Experience exist for one reason: so Annette genuinely understands what is happening, what has already been tried, and whether her approach is the right fit for your family.

In short: CHAMPS Academy Coaching follows four steps: a short application personally reviewed by Annette Du Bois, a private parent conversation if accepted, the CHAMPS Academy Confidence Experience for your child or teenager on Zoom, and then your decision with no obligation. Investment is discussed privately and transparently after the Confidence Experience, with no obligation to proceed. All coaching is delivered entirely online to families across the UK, USA, UAE and Europe.

Step by step

What happens when you contact us

For families Annette feels she may be able to help, the process follows four clear steps.

1

The application — takes a few minutes

The application is not a simple enquiry form. It helps Annette build a genuine picture of your child or teenager before you ever speak. She reads every application personally and considers:

  • What is currently happening and how long it has been going on
  • How it is affecting everyday life at home, school and socially
  • What support or approaches have already been tried
  • What the parent would most like to change
  • How receptive the child or teenager is to the idea of coaching
  • How ready the family is to move forward

This is why we ask for more than a name and a phone number. The more Annette understands before you speak, the more useful that first conversation will be.

2

A personal conversation with Annette

If Annette feels her approach could be appropriate for your child or teenager, she personally invites you to a private parent conversation. This is a genuine two-way discussion — not a sales call. She takes time to understand your child’s personality, the specific challenges they are facing, and what approaches have already been tried.

Not every application results in an invitation, and that is intentional. Annette only works with families where she believes her approach is appropriate and there is a genuine opportunity to help. If she does not feel that is the case, she will say so directly and, where possible, suggest more appropriate routes.

3

Your child’s Confidence Experience

Your child or teenager is invited to the CHAMPS Academy Confidence Experience — a carefully structured first meeting with Annette on Zoom. It gives them the opportunity to meet her, experience how she works, try something practical, and establish whether coaching feels right for them.

Many young people who were nervous beforehand leave asking when they can start. There is no charge and no obligation.

4

Your decision — no obligation, ever

After the Confidence Experience, Annette sends you a personal email with her feedback and, where appropriate, a personalised coaching package she would recommend for your child or teenager based on their specific needs. This includes the investment involved. You will already have seen the starting investment during the application process, so there are no unexpected surprises.

There is no pressure, no hard sell, and no obligation at any stage. Only you decide whether CHAMPS Academy is right for your family.

Inside the programme

What parents and young people actually experience

Once coaching begins, this is what a CHAMPS Academy programme involves — and why it is structured this way.

Personalised from the beginning

There is no generic programme handed to every young person. Coaching is structured around what Annette has learned from the application, the parent conversation and the Confidence Experience — and then adapted week by week as your child or teenager progresses.

Personally coached by Annette

Every coaching session is personally delivered by Annette, so your child or teenager benefits directly from her 20+ years of specialist experience.

Practical tools they can actually use

Sessions are not simply about talking through what is wrong. Young people learn practical ways to handle the specific situations they are finding difficult — at school, at home and socially — and they begin using them straightaway.

Action between sessions

Small, realistic actions help move what is discussed during coaching into everyday life. After every session, Annette sends coaching reminders with clear next steps using the CHAMPS A.I.R method™ (Action, Improve, Repeat).

Parents are part of the process

Parents receive appropriate guidance on how to support progress at home. The aim is to help without adding pressure — knowing what to say, what not to say, and when to step back.

Progress is reviewed

At the start of every programme, Annette establishes a baseline using a simple evaluation form. Progress is then measured against real changes in everyday life — not simply whether your child or teenager enjoyed speaking with her.

Common questions

Questions about the process

The form takes about 5 minutes. Annette typically responds within 24–48 hours.
If Annette does not feel she is the right fit for your child or teenager, she will say so clearly and respectfully — and where possible point you toward more appropriate resources.
The Confidence Experience is a carefully structured first meeting with Annette on Zoom — not a free coaching session or a trial. It gives your child or teenager the opportunity to meet Annette, experience how she works, and try something genuinely useful. There is no charge and no obligation.
After the Confidence Experience, Annette sends you a personal email with her feedback and, where appropriate, a personalised coaching package she would recommend for your child or teenager based on their specific needs — including the investment involved. There is never any obligation to proceed. Tell Annette what’s happening →
